Words alone cannot come close to describing how wonderful this RV Park and Campground is. More like a small community, it's got everything you could possibly want, and then some. The staff is more like family than employees, the park is immaculate, and the location is as scenic as anything I've seen. Bonus is the evening bus ride to Mount Rushmore...do not miss this! Most awesome and inspiring moment I have experienced in quite some time. Kudos to the entire KOA Team for a job well done!!
BEST KOA experience so far (after staying at about 6). There is so much to do in this area, and yet we had a hard time leaving the KOA because it offered so many kid friendly activities on site! Bathrooms have nicer finishes and are clean with TONS of showers. Never had to wait. Grounds are well cared for and the weather (August) was spectacular for camping. Hot enough during the day to swim, hike, etc., cool enough to snuggle under the stars at night. People were great, too. We were there 10 days and will be back.
This is a BIG RV resort. Lots of amenities for all. Our site, not far from the fun zone, backed up to a shrub bed area. Rented a car here. 117000 miles on it. Old Buick sedan. Adequate but sub-optimal. It was, however, convenient. This place is fine as a base to explore. That said, it's pricey. Would stay here again.
We have positive and negative comments about this campground. It was a beautiful park with lots of things to do. Great for families. Staff was great and helpful when possibly an inexperienced person at check-in put us in a site we could not possibly maneuver into. But she changed our site and all was well. Loved the fact that they had on site car rentals. Not happy that we were charged $3.00 a day for our pet but had no close pet area. Went to the pub for drinks and bought specialty drinks but even the bartender said recipe are changed by owner to get more profit and less alcohol! Don't buy mixed drinks at the Pub. Sites were small but adequate
We had a great time! Something for everyone in our party... all the kids, even the adult ones. We do not typically camp at an organized campground, nor on holiday weekends. This was both, and we were very happy with how it turned out! Considering the size of the place, it was quiet at night, the facilities were well kept, and we all had a wonderful time!
