We live locally & purchased a 50% off coupon from Click Big Deals. We paid $10 for $20 worth of product, which was CLEARLY stated on the coupon (and in English). We were dining with family from out of state & they also had a coupon for the same deal. We informed the waitress (who was the daughter of the owner) of this prior to ordering & she acknowledged. Well, since we were just there for lunch, each of our bills were slightly over $20. So, after our coupon was applied, the remaining balance should have been minimal. The owner came to our table & said "I know this coupon doesn't SAY this, but what it MEANS is that you get $10 off per TABLE, so I can deduct $5 per each of your tickets. Because otherwise, I'll be giving you free food & I'm not in the business of giving away free food." REALLY????? She thought it would be ok for her to willy nilly change the verbiage of the coupon? We politely tried to explain what the coupon verbiage actually SAID and MEANT, but she wouldn't listen & just caused a scene, continuing to argue...apparently too ignorant to understand. Finally, she tore off with our coupons & said she would do it this time, but never again. When she returned, she THREW our tickets on the table & WICKEDLY said "Enjoy your FREE food", then turned & stormed off. Seriously???? Wow! So, with this review, I am hoping to save others from experiencing the same kind of rudeness. Never have I been treated this way at a restaurant and by the owner, no less. She is not only losing our future business, but also our family, friends, co-workers and hopefully anyone else we come in contact with that we share this story with. We also stopped at the Chamber of Commerce on our way home & informed them of our experience. UNBELIEVABLE!
The food was goood. Our server was polite enough. However, we were seated right next to a server who was standing at one of the tables counting her tips and eating her dinner. With her mouth open. Don't do that stuff in the dining room. Do it in the break room. Or upstairs where there aren't any customers.
Owner extremely ignorant & RUDE!
A must stop in Hill City! We will be back.
Maybe we went on an off day but...took a while to get drinks, when the waitress did bring them it was incorrect and took several trips to fix. We finally got our orders placed but it took a long time for the food to arrive. A burger, a blt, and a brat should not take 30 minutes. Our food was cold when it finally got to our table, it definitely sat out for a long time. We were one of the first groups seated so the kitchen was no way backed up. The beer taps were broken so everything was cans only, which honestly is no big deal, it was just fruatrating. Maybe if the food was hot I could rate this place better...waitress was nice though, just took a long time to get back with us...
It was a fantastic place to eat... The atmosphere was phenomenal... The wait staff is very friendly... And the food was great. We had the beer cheese soup and popcorn chicken... U definitely get your money's worth. If you walk out hungry it is your own fault.
Great food. Very large portions. Very large beer selection. Reasonably priced.
Staff all very friendly.
